Happy New Year! I'm still reflecting on 2015. What a great year! I can't help to think of what my life was just a year ago. I was just starting to look for a new apartment, just finished researching thoughts for my blog, and was starting to develop my vintage fashion style. I've always been a vintage lover. But could never land on which fashion era suited me best. I soon learned that I actually love all vintage fashion era's...some more than others.
As I've been taking some fun fashion risks lately, I've been admiring vintage pieces from the 20's up to the 90's. I typically gravitate toward 50s, 80s and 90s fashion. But lately I've had a real eye for 60's and 70's fashion. I love the prints and bright colors of 70s fashion. But I absolutely adore the sophisticated but yet flirty and fun fashion silhouettes of the 60s.
It was love at first sight when I first saw this gorgeous vintage 1960s sequin and lace gown on Etsy store Costumes Etc. I was on the hunt for a New Year's Eve dress. I'm secretly in love with sequins and sparkle. I also have a thing for long dresses. I loved the color and silhouette of this gown. It was the perfect marriage of 60s glam, sequins and was the perfect length.
I had many dreams about this dress and was so stoked when I finally had it in my hands. Unfortunately overindulging at too many holiday parties added a few extra pounds on my hips and it wasn't the perfect fit. But I was determined to fit into this dreamy dress for New Years Eve. I started my new years weight loss resolution a few weeks early and was in absolute bliss when I finally fit into this gorgeous gown. I was love with how glamorous this dress made me feel. It was flowy but fitted in just the right places. I had never worn a gown other than my wedding dress that has such graceful movement. I turned quite a few heads when wearing this gown. I lost count of all people who stopped me to tell me how much they loved my dress. I've never really felt this level of glam and can't wait for the next chance to wear this lovely 60s gown!
