Spring is officially here and I'm back to the basics. I'm ready to get back to what matters most and looking forward to the fresh start that this season often brings. Although winter was a fun and unseasonably warm, I unfortunately neglected so many things from my to do list and lost a bit of balance in my life.
One of my New Year’s resolutions was to get a better grip on my time management. I’m going to refocus on that goal and learn to budget my time much more wisely. I’m going to write down my to do list and tackle as much as I can each day and also not stress if I don’t get to everything on the entire list. There’s always tomorrow. I’m also going to find my work life balance again. I’m going to continue to love what I do and find time for my family, friends and most importantly myself. I’m going to stop working until I fall asleep while typing, start putting down the cell phone at dinner and really listen and reconnect with everyone. I’ll also schedule time in my busy weeks to pamper and treat myself to a spa day and do what’s needed to unwind and relax.
It’ so funny that at my busiest last fall I procrastinated and had to delay putting my warm weather wardrobe away and now I’m super eager to bring back all my fun vintage dresses and skirts. I am so excited to get reacquainted with my spring wardrobe and to see all the fun colors and prints hanging in the closest. I’ve accumulated so much that I’m sure I’ll have overflow and may need an extra clothing rack.
But while I’m in the beginning of the spring wardrobe transition I felt like wearing jeans and a t-shirt. It’s been awhile since I’ve worn these basics. Years ago this was my uniform. I would wear a white or grey t-shirt with jeans everyday and to just about any occasion. Maybe it was because it was super comfortable or super easy to wear. But I have to admit that I felt a bit off not wearing my usual fun colored and sometimes flashy outfits. But I love this bright coat from Noir Ohio, t-shirt from Uniqlo, mom jeans from H&M and flats from Steve Madden. I really like the balance that the pop of color of the coat gives this simpler outfit.
