So far this summer has been hot, hot, hot. I'm definitely a Summer Lover as I confessed in my first ever blog post. But boy has it been a little difficult adjusting to the heat wave in New York City. This urban jungle is always scorching hot and humid in the summer. But it's extra hot this summer and I'm so missing the pleasant winter weather in Peru. Hope you had a chance to check it my last post I Love Peru.
I toned down my super bright outfits and head wear during my trip to Peru. But now that I'm back I've turned up the bright level with my outfits and have gone back to turning heads. Oh how I love the attention and happy feeling every time I wear my bold bright summer frocks and skirts. Lately I've been stopped on the streets and approached while riding the subway or bus by folks admiring my colorful outfits. I've thoroughly enjoyed the amazing convos with fellow color lovers and vintage enthusiasts.
I actually don't have as many bold, bright show stopper vintage pieces as I would like. But I can't tell you how much I love this vintage Hawaiian dress from Prizes for Arla that I scored from East Village Vintage Collective. I love everything about this dress! I adore the print and colors, the fit and can't get over how comfy it is. I also love that it's 100% cotton which makes it breathable in the super warm weather. I paired this adorable dress with my new vintage purse from The Bargain District. This bag is everything as it's the perfect shape and size and goes with all my outfits. I have a real thing for anything made of straw and recently scored another great vintage straw hat from Hamlet's Vintage. I immediately fell in love with this hat. It fits like a dream, goes with everything and the flowers are so cute! For sunnies I opted for these teal ones from Beacon's Closet that really made this outfit extra bright and fun.
I'm currently obsessed with Teva sandals. I've been following Calvintage forever and discovered this brand in their blog post Summer Style with Teva. I opted for a different style with a slightly thinner sole. I researched them for a few weeks on Zappos and finally ordered these. They are beyond comfortable and I may buy another pair as I keep wearing them almost every day.
Hope you're staying cool, comfy and stylish this summer. What do you like to wear when it's super hot outside??
