Why I Love PeruI can't tell you how much I love Peru. I've been there several times and when asked why I keep returning I have a list of reasons. Peru fulfills all my travel requirements and so much more. I love the culture, friendly people, food, how affordable it is, and the Peruvian way of life. As I've discussed with several friends and family I'm extremely particular about my vacations/trips. For starters I'll only consider going to a place if it's vegetarian friendly and has vintage shopping. Then it has to be a place where I can learn about the culture and easily explore.
Oh, how I wanted to explore more, visit vintage shops and do multiple photo shoots during my recent trip to Peru. But with the heavy traveling from all over Lima to Caral, Paracas, Ica and Cusco there just wan't enough time or availability of wifi to have worked and researched as much as I wanted. I would have killed for mobile internet access or an international data plan by the way! This trip ended up being a tiring one but the perfect balance of work and play. The best part is I experienced new things and places that I'll never forget and met an amazing new friend and fellow fashion blogger Andrea Chavez.
Peruvian Fashion Blogger: Andrea Chavez of DeLilacYou have to check out Andrea's blog DeLilac!!! I spent quite a few weeks researching Peruvian bloggers and rejoiced when I came across DeLilac. I stumbled upon it on Instagram and was instantly hooked. I love her unique and colorful style. She definitely stands out from other Peruvian bloggers I've seen. And what a sweetie she is in person. We met at a Starbucks and chatted for a brief while since I was super late for our meeting due to a delayed flight from Cusco.
We chatted about two topics that Google searches just weren't able to easily answer for me: 1. Peruvian fashion and 2) vintage shopping in Peru. Since my last trip I was super curious about Peruvian fashion and fashion blogging in Peru. Andrea shared her take on fashion in Peru and made me appreciate and love her unique style and fashion sense even more. I confessed to her that I had been having the hardest time researching vintage stores in Peru. Turns out that she's also a vintage lover and gave me the greatest advice for where to shop vintage in Peru especially in Miraflores. She even went out of here way to take me to a nearby shops that I would have never discovered on my own.
I can't tell you what a blast it was a few days later to have a photo shoot with Andrea. She's been blogging a bit longer than me and is such a pro. She's such an inspiration and I love how she takes risks and totally doesn't mind turning heads because of her fun hair color or cool outfits. We had an audience a few times as people stopped and watched in amazement as we posed and gave the camera out best in Miraflores. Make sure you check out Andrea's blog at www.delilac.com and follow here on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook! You'll love her super fun style!
