Giving into the Bare Shoulder Craze

I just couldn't fight the urge to get into the off-the-shoulder craze. I may be super late on this fashion trend since I don't really follow current fashion trends too much. I tend to only really pay attention to them when working with and styling clients that want vintage pieces. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than finding a vintage version of a current fashion trend. That totally was the case for this fabulous 70's vintage maxi dress I scored from Etsy shop Eye Rock Vintage. I went crazy when I found it on Etsy after weeks of looking for a vintage blouse but changed my search to vintage off-shoulder dresses instead.

This dress is an absolute dream! I'm in love with the colors, print, super comfortable fit and long maxi length of this dress. I've been so into wearing red again lately and have always had a thing for the long maxi length. I just got this dress in the mail and although I have a pretty large pile of other skirts and dresses to wear by the end of summer I just couldn't fight the urge to wear this dreamy dress immediately. Plus I'm a firm believer in wearing what you love as per my blog post Wear What You Love from a few months ago.

I was very tempted to wear this over sized dress without a belt but remembered I'm Norbyah's blog post Style Minute: Put a Belt on It. And so I put a belt on it. Lol. I wore a vintage belt from Hamlet's Vintage. It's still a bit too humid in New York City and I've been living in this vintage hat also from Hamlet's Vintage. It keeps me looking and feeling stylish on those bad hair days. I wore one of my favorite pairs of sunnies from Beacon's Closet and the most comfortable sandals I've ever owned from Teva purchased from Zappo's. I topped this look off with a super cute vintage straw purse from 10 ft by Stella Dallas.

Have you given into the off-shoulder look?? What are your thoughts on this fashion trend?
