The Coolest Summer Dress
Can you believe that it's September already? I can't believe that summer is technically coming to an end. What a summer it has been!! For me it's been filled with amazing trips and adventures, eating amazing food, tons of great vintage shopping and staying cool and cute in sweet vintage dresses. As a confessed summer lover I'll continue to savor every last ounce of summer that we have left. That also means that as always I'll continue to wear my vintage dresses and skirts well into the fall.
Summer '16 was the first summer that I practically wore vintage head to toe. It felt great! But I certainly struggled a bit to find out which of my vintage dresses were truly the cutest and coolest to wear during the extreme heat of summer '16. I really hated that I had to ignore most of my amazing vintage dresses that were either short sleeve, in non comfy fabrics, or both. I definitely tried wearing several super adorable short sleeve vintage dresses in cotton blends while out and about. But I paid the price by sweating through them like their was no tomorrow. Although they were super cute and got me tons of compliments, I learned quickly that sleeveless cotton dresses were the way to go.
I'm extremely grateful for vintage sleeveless cotton dresses. They truly saved me this summer! These summer dresses ended up being the coolest and most comfortable thing to wear. Unfortunately I only had very few. I began the hunt for more but struggled just a bit to find good cotton ones. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this beauty at The Bargain District in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Hope you had a chance to check out my Why You Have to Check out The Bargain District blog feature from a few months ago. I'm so in LOVE with this store. It is always stocked with the cutest and most drool worthy pieces and I can't get over the super affordable prices. It's actually one of the vintage shops that I couldn't live without and visit every chance I get. I immediately fell in love with the color and fun print on this dress. This dress has been my savior from the heat all summer long. There are just a few peaks of me wearing this amazing dress on my Instagram feed although it feels like I've worn it every day. Lol. It's possibly the most comfortable dress ever. I paired it with an awesome vintage straw bag from Hamlet's Vintage. For sunnies I wore my new favorites from Friends NYC Vintage . I can't seem to get enough of these extremely comfortable Teva sandals scored from Zappos. Due to ultimate hair frizzies I wore this vintage scarf which is one of my favorites from Stella Dallas.
