How to Get Ready for Vacation

There's just something truly magical about traveling in the summer. Maybe it's the carefree vibes of summer that helps make traveling in the summer months so awesome. I'm a summer lover mostly because I take my major vacations and trips during the summer. BUT I tend to turn into a crazy worry nut at the thought of getting ready for travel. I mean, who doesn't? Planning, preparing and packing for vacation is enough to stress anyone out even just a little.

Luckily, over the years I've learned how to make my whole trip planning and organization process as stress-free as possible. Here are my tips and tricks for getting ready for vacation:

Get an Early Start

I pretty much do everything way in advance. I tend to book my flights and where I'm staying almost six months or more in advance.  I also start packing a week or two before my trip. I casually through items and clothes into the suitcases and then take my time to edit what I'm actually bringing. I go one further and make a list of everything that needs to be packed to make sure I don't leave anything really important behind. One trip I forgot to pack all my tops and blouses...

I also start research what to do and where to go online as well as asking friends for recommendations about a month before. It helps me get super excited for my trip. I always make a loose itinerary for each day of my trip just to give me some sort of guide and direction for the day.

Don't Stress Over the Little Things

I have to admit that I got a bit overwhelmed with all I had to do for my last trip. But I soon realized that tiny little tasks weren't worth the stress and worry.  I ended up not doing my Target run and buying some toiletries at my destinations. I also decided to let the dust bunnies under the couch go until I came back. I still haven't gotten to them by the way. Hehe.

How do you get ready for a vacation??
